A 1-2 pitch in the first inning from Braves starter Julio Teheran ended up hitting Padres outfielder Matt Kemp and then tempers flared. Kind of.

Even by baseball's standards of "benches clear and 95 percent of the players stand there and do nothing," this was tame. There is lingering recent history, though, as the Padres broadcast noted. The teams have been annoyed with one another since this play:

The Padres felt that Andrelton Simmons' leg was too far out toward catcher Derek Norris and it's hard to argue. Norris easily left a lane there.

Anyway, on Wednesday Justin Upton was hit with a pitch, but the Padres haven't hit anyone all series. That means if Teheran actually hit Kemp on purpose -- on a 1-2 pitch, mind you -- it's pretty stupid and that anyone believing that was on purpose is probably a bit off base.

Plus, all they did was stand around!

I don't even know who you are anymore, guys.
