WATCH: Craig Sager throws out the first pitch at Wrigley Field
Sager, the veteran NBA reporter who is known for his quirky mannerisms and colorful suits, is battling cancer
Thanks in part to a complete game from Jon Lester, the first-place Cubs beat the Dodgers at Wrigley Field on Wednesday night (CHC 2, LAD 1). Kris Bryant's two-run home run was the decisive blow.
Before the game, NBA reporter Craig Sager tossed out at the first pitch. Sager, who grew up in the Chicago suburbs, is well know for his quirky mannerisms and colorful suits, among other things. Here's the first pitch:
Sager, 64, has been battling acute myeloid leukemia since 2014. He's been undergoing aggressive treatment that has included 21 bone marrow biopsies to date since the diagnosis.
Ken Berger of CBS Sports recently wrote about Sager and his battle with cancer, and the way it affects his work. Spoiler: He doesn't let it. Great to see him at the ballpark. Sager's pretty great.
