WATCH: Josh Donaldson recovers from bobble to make a spectacular play
Bobbling a high hop is no problem for the Blue Jays third baseman
Wednesday night in Toronto, the Blue Jays finished off a sweep of the reeling Yankees (TOR 7, NYY 0). The Blue Jays have now won seven of their last eight games. The Yankees, on the other hand, have lost six of their last eight. These two teams are going in opposite directions.
In the second inning of Wednesday's game, Josh Donaldson reminded everyone exactly why he was named AL MVP last season. He bobbled a hard chopper at third but recovered to make a spectacular throw. Check this out:
Yes, Alex Rodriguez was running down the line, and he runs about as quickly as most people walk, but still. You don't get you choose who hits the ball your way.
Sometimes bad plays lead to great plays, and I'm totally cool with it. Donaldson should have fielded the hop cleanly and made a boring throw over to first. Instead he flubbed the grounder and it led to the gorgeous throw. Hooray!
