WATCH: Yankees slugger Chris Carter only needs one hand to hit home runs
Carter hit a most unlikely bomb against the Red Sox on Tuesday night
The Red Sox and Yankees renewed hostilities in the Bronx on Tuesday night (BOS-NYY GameTracker), and as part of the festivities, New York first baseman Chris Carter performed an impressive Feat of Baseball Strength.
Here, see for yourself via the magic of color television ...
One handed homer? Ok, Chris Carter! #MLBNShowcasepic.twitter.com/ZXurTvjz4Y

That, well-dressed onlookers, is a one-handed home run. No, Mr. Carter did not initiate his swing with one hand -- that would be contrary to best practices -- but the top hand did appear to come off the bat prior to contact. Please regard the following photographic image for supporting evidence ...

Carter's now blasted 155 home runs in 730 major-league games, and he of course led the NL in moon shots last season as a member of the Brewers. So he is not unaccustomed to hitting things hard and also far. What he is presumably less familiar with is the feeling of blasting something off the outside edge deep to the pull field while using half of his available arms.
People, some birds need only one wing to fly. We call such a bird Chris Carter, Goldfinch of Clouts.
