Angels' Yunel Escobar: Out again Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Escobar (knee) remains out of the lineup Saturday against the A's, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The extent of Escobar's knee issue remains uncertain, but he will miss a second straight start as a result of the injury. Gregorio Petit will be afforded a start at third base as Johnny Giavotella fills in atop the order against lefty Dillon Overton.

Angels' Yunel Escobar: Dealing with knee injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Updating on a previous report, Escobar left Thursday's game with a knee injury, which is likely why he is out of Friday's lineup, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

Escobar left Thursday's game after flying out to right field in the bottom of the seventh inning. He was replaced by Gregorio Petit at third for the remainder of the game, but Jefry Marte will be taking over at the hot corner for Friday's contest. At this point, Escobar should be considered day-to-day until a further update is made available.

Angels' Yunel Escobar: Out of lineup Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Escobar is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the A's.

Angels beat writer Jeff Fletcher notes that there was no exact reason given as to why Escobar was left out of the lineup Friday after being lifted from Thursday's contest. ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that the Angels are listening to other teams regarding Escobar as a potential trade piece, although that may not be the reason he was left out of the lineup Friday. Regardless, Jefry Marte will take over at third base for at least Friday's contest against the A's.

Angels' Yunel Escobar: Continues stellar season with three-hit effort
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Escobar went 3-for-5 with a double, RBI and run in Saturday's 7-1 victory over the A's.

The veteran has been quite the find out of the leadoff spot for the Angels, and is now slashing .312/.365/.417 following Saturday's production. Escobar has been particularly proficient at the plate in June, tallying seven multi-hit efforts and generating a .333 average over 60 at-bats. He's also already matched his May total with five two-baggers, and is making contact at a rate befitting of his spot at the top of the order, whiffing just six times to date during the month.
