Tim Lincecum chased in fourth inning vs. Pirates
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum wasn't a factor in the decision Wednesday after giving up five earned runs on five hits and three walks in just 3 1/3 innings and striking out two in his team's 7-5 win over the Pirates.

Lincecum has now turned in back-to-back poor outings after a nice five-start run, and his rough stretch comes right after he was used to pick up a save in a game last week. He surrendered two-run home runs in the third and fourth inning Wednesday after serving up two home runs in his last nine starts combined. Lincecum owns a 4.21 ERA and 116:50 K:BB ratio in 128 1/3 innings. He's scheduled to face the Brewers Tuesday.

Tim Lincecum gets roughed up in loss to Dodgers
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Giants starting pitcher Tim Lincecum was hit hard Friday night at home against the Dodgers, dropping to 9-7 on the year. The right-hander permitted six runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out six over 4 1/3 innings of an 8-1 defeat.

Lincecum has allowed nine earned runs over his last 19 innings of work. He owns a 3.96 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP over 125 innings of work this season. He will look to pick up the pieces and get back on track Wednesday at home against Pittsburgh.

Tim Lincecum picks up a save Tuesday
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum got a rare save opportunity Tuesday against the Phillies.

Lincecum entered the game in the 14th inning with two men on base and a four-run lead. He allowed one run to score on a ground out, but wasn't charged with the earned run. Lincecum then walked Cameron Rupp, but was able to Domonic Brown to ground out to end the game.

Lincecum tossed 2/3 of an inning, giving up one walk. It was the first save of his career.

Tim Lincecum takes loss but delivers fifth straight quality start
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com

Giants starting pitcher Tim Lincecum threw a fifth straight quality start Sunday against the Marlins, which is the first time he's accomplished the feat since Aug. 2011. However, he didn't get enough run support to avoid taking a loss, as Miami won 3-2.

Lincecum (9-6) ran into some early trouble, as Casey McGehee gave Miami a 2-0 lead with a two-out, two-run homer in the first inning.

He was then able to keep Miami off the scoreboard for the next five innings, which allowed San Francisco to tie the game. But Miami took the lead for good when Adeiny Hechavarria scored on a wild pitch in the seventh inning.

Lincecum was charged with three runs on five hits and two walks in seven innings. He struck out seven. He is expected to be back on the hill Friday against the Dodgers. Lincecum has a 1.80 ERA in one start against Los Angeles this season.

Play it cautious with Tim Lincecum
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer

When Tim Lincecum strung together three straight dominant starts beginning with a no-hitter June 25, it didn't really do much for me. Two were against the Padres, and he issued four walks in the last one. I wasn't about to get sucked in. But then when he added a fourth Friday against the Diamondbacks, I decided I should at least acknowledge the possibility that he may have finally completed the apparently glacial task of reinventing himself. Yes, I guess it's about time to take a flier on --

Oh, wait. He's already 94 percent owned.

How is that possible for a pitcher with so little to show for the last three years? Did I wait too long to make a move?

Eh ... not really. He's been about 80 percent owned since he threw the no-hitter even though he would have been a tough sell in standard mixed leagues before it. Apparently, Lincecum still carries enough name value that, to be in on him, you have to be all-in on him.

And I'm just not. As I wrote in my latest post to the Fantasy Baseball Today blog, there are still reasons to doubt him. I gave him what I thought was a pretty significant bump in the rankings Monday, moving him up to 76th to make me the high guy between Al Melchior, Michael Hurcomb and I, but to me, the 76th-best starting pitcher doesn't deserve anywhere close to 94 percent ownership.
