Giants-Rockies postponed Sunday due to rain
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Sunday's scheduled game between the Giants and Rockies has been postponed due to rain, the Denver Post reports.

The series finale between the two teams was scheduled to feature a matchup between righty Tim Lincecum and lefty Tyler Matzek, but both starters could have their starts pushed back one day as their respective teams each open a series on the road. Makeup details for Sunday's postponement have yet to be announced.

Giants' Tim Lincecum picks up first win of the season
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum put together a quality start to pick up his first win of the season Tuesday night against the Dodgers.

Lincecum (1-1) allowed a run-scoring double to Alex Guerrero in the fifth inning for his only blemish of the evening. He surrendered one run on five hits and three walks while striking out five over six innings of a 6-2 victory. Of his 85 pitches, 46 were strikes.

After tossing even scoreless frames in his first start of the season, Lincecum has allowed four earned runs over his last two starts (11 innings). He will look for win No. 2 against the Rockies at Coors Field on Sunday. He is 2-1 with a 7.45 ERA over his last four starts in Colorado.

Rockies' Arenado seems to have Giants SP Lincecum's number
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com

Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado gave his team an early 3-0 lead Wednesday at San Francisco with a three-run homer off Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum in the first inning. Lincecum got ahead of Arenado, 0-2, before Arenado golfed a 79-mph changeup into the left-center field seats.

"I just wanted to make sure I stayed on the ball, think middle, before I pulled off it," said Arenado, who is celebrating his 24th birthday Thursday, per MLB.com. "Luckily enough, I got a pitch to hit and put a swing on it."

Arenado has had plenty of success against Lincecum in his career, and it extends to spring training as well. Arenado hit a three-run homer off Lincecum in a March 31 spring game. In the regular season, Arenado is batting .417 (5 for 12) with one double, one home run and three RBI in his career against the right-hander.

"He [Arenado] is their guy," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "He's a nice player. He's maybe the best defensive third baseman in the game and the guy hits in the heart of the order."

Giants' Tim Lincecum throws seven scoreless innings Friday
by Ted Leshinski | Staff Writer

Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum threw seven shutout innings on Friday against the Padres but had to settle for a no decision. The righty struck out five and walked three.

Lincecum managed to be successful despite not having top velocity on his fastball, which sat in the 85-to-88-mph range, per MLB.com.

"I got some fastballs by guys that set up my off-speed pitches," Lincecum said. "... I don't think I leaned on any one pitch more than the other."

Lincecum is on track to face the Rockies in San Francisco Wednesday.
