Phillies' Freddy Galvis having no problems replacing Jimmy Rollins
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

Phillies' shortstop Freddy Galvis struck out on Friday night, the first time in 29 at bats that he'd fanned.

Galvis is hitting .341 this season, and making replacing a team icon look easy. Jimmy Rollins, the longtime Phillies shortstop now with the Dodgers, is hitting just .176 and has 21 strikeouts this season, compared to Galvis' six.

Jimmy Rollins, Juan Uribe out for Dodgers
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

For the second straight game, Justin Turner replaces Juan Uribe at third base for the Dodgers

Turner will make his fourth start of the year at the hot corner, batting second in the lineup.

The Dodgers also gave a rest to shortstop Jimmy Rollins, who is out of the lineup for just the third time this year. Enrique Hernandez will start just his fourth career game at short, batting eighth in the lineup.

"JT's been swinging good. Alex has been swinging good. Van Slyke's been swinging good. We’ve got a number of guys that are swinging good which is a good problem," manager Don Mattingly said per the Orange County Register." ... It’s a lot easier when you’re winning. I think guys are happier with what’s going on when the team’s playing well."

Dodgers' Jimmy Rollins belts second home run in win over Giants
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

Batting in the second spot in the lineup for the first time this season, Dodgers shortstop Jimmy Rollins powered up to hit the Dodgers' third of four home runs against Giants starter Ryan Vogelsong. The solo shot was his second home run of the year, as the Dodgers beat the Giants 7-3 on Wednesday.

Rollins, who had been leading off for the Dodgers, was moved to the second spot in the lineup by manager Don Mattingly. In his last 10 games, Rollins is hittting just .135 with seven strikeouts.

Dodgers shake up top of lineup, Pederson leading off vs. Giants
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Dodgers center fielder Joc Pederson is leading off for the first time this season Wednesday in his team's matchup with the Giants.

"He may end up back [eighth]," manager Don Mattingly said before the game, per MLB.com. "We don't know when Yasiel [Puig] comes back. For now, I feel he fits right there [at leadoff]."

Shortstop Jimmy Rollins has been moved to No. 2 in the order, making it his first start this season out of the leadoff slot. Manager Don Mattingly also flipped first baseman Adrian Gonzalez and second baseman Howie Kendrick, with Kendrick moving up to the third spot and Gonzalez batting cleanup.

The Dodgers are heavy favorites (-200) against the Giants at home Wednesday.

Dodgers' Jimmy Rollins not concerned with early slump at the plate
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com

Dodgers shortstop Jimmy Rollins isn't worrying just yet about his struggles at the plate, according to the Orange County Register.

"Well, some people like to panic. That has never been my MO," he said. "I have, what, 50, 60 at-bats, I'm not sure. So if these are my worst 50 at-bats this year – I'm glad they're happening now. (If they are his worst at-bats) it’s going to be a very good year."

Rollins is hitting just .186 in 70 at-bats so far this season. He believes he's still been taking good swings at the plate, just not finding the gaps in the defense.

"It's hard to compute if you just look at numbers," he said. "I'm getting myself in good counts, just not finishing it off. I know it's coming. I'm hitting some off the end, some are getting in just a little bit. But the swing path is right. It's just a click here, a click there.

"The process is good. You have to continue to trust in the process and believe in the process. You get oriented in just results – especially at times like this – then you're trying to make all these technical changes and that's when you go from one to two to 100. So the process is right. Executing it is about fine-tuning."
