Giants second baseman Marco Scutaro pushed his hitting streak to 18 games Monday against the Nationals. It was also Scutaro's fourth straight multi-hit game and the 14th time he had multiple hits during the streak.

Scutaro is batting .480 (36 for 75) with a .519 on-base percentage, .640 slugging percentage and 1.159 OPS during his hitting streak. He also has one home run, two triples, five doubles, six walks, seven RBI and 15 runs.

Scutaro is batting .475 in the month of May, with 11 multi-hit games in 14 games. He currently has a 16-game hitting streak.

Giants second baseman Marco Scutaro served as the DH in Tuesday's series opener against the Blue Jays.

"This is a great opportunity to give Scutaro a break," manager Bruce Bochy told MLB.com. "We're only here two days so I can't take it easy on a lot of them, but with Scutaro, it makes sense to give him a break."

Scutaro has hit in 12 straight contests and is batting .479 (23 for 48) with one homer and five RBI during that span.

Giants shortstop Marco Scutaro continued his hot hitting Sunday against the Braves with his sixth-straight, multi-hit performance in the 5-1 win.

Scutaro hit his first home run of the year in the fifth inning off starter Kris Medlen and added a ground-rule double in the sixth. He finished 2 for 5 with an RBI and run scored.

Scutaro has hit safely in 12-straight games and is batting .479 (23 for 48) with a home run, five doubles, two triples and five RBI over that span. He has nine multi-hit games during his streak.
