Cubs starting pitcher Travis Wood took his third straight loss Monday against the Cardinals, giving up four runs (three earned) on seven hits and no walks in seven innings while striking out four.

Wood's no-walk effort was his first of the year, and his quality start was his fourth straight, but it wasn't enough to avoid slipping to 5-6. Wood takes a 2.74 ERA into Saturday's start against the Astros.

Wood has allowed just three runs combined in his last two starts (12 innings). He is scheduled to make his next start Wednesday against the Reds at Wrigley Field. He is 3-3 with a 2.33 ERA in eight starts at home.
