Mets LF Michael Cuddyer could be finding his way at the plate
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

Mets left fielder Michael Cuddyer had his first three-hit game of the season in Thursday's win over the Cardinals. Cuddyer reached safely in all four of his plate appearances, going 3 for 3 (all singles) with a walk.

The veteran outfielder has gotten off to a rather slow start at the plate for his new team, but he may be starting to turn things around. He's reached base safely via a hit or a walk in each of his last seven games, batting .346 during that span.

“I feel a little better,’’ Cuddyer said after the game, per the New York Post. “I don’t really tinker with mechanics too much. There’s a few things you I can do in the cage that will free you up a little bit, and we’re getting you that point. But ultimately, you look at the box score, and that’s how you say if a guy is hot or not.’’

Cuddyer hasn't homered since May 1, so the power hasn't quite been there for him yet. But the team is happy to see Cuddyer improving.

“Cuddy’s hitting the ball well. He hit the ball well [Wednesday] night, but right at them," Mets first baseman Lucas Duda said. "I think we’re getting rolling here offensively, and that will just help us. It should be fun.’’

Looking to snap skid, Mets' Cuddyer drives in two on Saturday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

Mets left fielder Michael Cuddyer broke out of his slump at the plate in Saturday's victory over the Brewers. Cuddyer, who came into the game with just five hits in his last 23 at-bats, went 2-4, including his fifth double of the season. He also drove in and scored a pair of runs as he upped his batting average to .242 on the season.

Mets' Michael Cuddyer: 'I haven't gotten the job done'
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

Mets outfielder Michael Cuddyer is taking full responsibility for his season-opening slump.

Cuddyer is hitting .233 this season, with a .656 OPS.

"You gotta perform, there's no question about that," Cuddyer said, per NJ.com. "Quite frankly, on my part, I haven't gotten the job done to this point. I need to."

Mets hitting coach Kevin Long sees signs that Cuddyer is about to break out, saying he looks "comfortable," and "He's ready to get going."

Mets right fielder Curtis Granderson out of the lineup on Monday
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com

Mets right fielder Curtis Granderson is out of the starting lineup on Monday with John Mayberry taking over in right field, the team announced.

Granderson has missed just three of the team's first 31 games for rest and started six in a row. Mayberry is hitting .120 in 25 at-bats this season. Michael Cuddyer is also back in the starting lineup after originally being reported as out for Monday.

Dilson Herrera and Kevin Plawecki all return to the lineup after getting the day off on Sunday.

The Mets are currently the underdogs (+150) against the Cubs.

Mets' Michael Cuddyer sits, Daniel Murphy bats third Sunday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Mets left fielder Michael Cuddyer is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Cuddyer has made nine straight starts while batting cleanup in each, but first baseman Lucas Duda will fill the cleanup role Sunday, with third baseman Daniel Murphy moving to the No. 3 spot in the order. Kirk Nieuwenhuis draws his first start in 10 games in place of Cuddyer.

The Mets are road favorites (-150) in Philadelphia Sunday.
