White Sox starter Jake Peavy wasn't at his best Sunday in Anaheim. Peavy took the loss against Jason Vargas and the Angels to fall to 5-2 on the year.

The Chicago starter surrendered just four hits, but walked five batters, as he gave up four earned runs over six innings. He gave up a two-run double to Chris Iannetta in the third inning, and walked home two runs in the fourth.

Peavy struck out seven over his 117 pitches, but his command was not where he'd like it as his ERA grew to 3.31. Peavy snapped a string of four consecutive winning decisions over his previous five outings Sunday. He should bounce back and his next scheduled start comes Saturday against Miami.

White Sox starter Jake Peavy enjoyed another stellar performance as he struck out six and notched his fifth win of the season Tuesday night against the Twins.

Peavy (5-1) allowed a run-scoring single to Oswaldo Arcia in the fifth and another run-scoring single to Trevor Plouffe in the seventh for his only damage of the night. He was charged with two runs and five hits over seven innings of work in a 4-2 victory.

Peavy is 4-0 with a 2.10 ERA in his last five starts. He improved his ERA to 2.96 after his six-strikeout performance Tuesday. Peavy is scheduled to take the hill Sunday on the road against the Angels.
