Angels starter Jerome Williams was excellent over eight strong innings for a victory over the Mariners Tuesday night.

Williams allowed just six hits over eight shutout innings in the win to improve to 3-1 in his fourth start. He's picked up wins in two of his last three outings and hasn't given up more than two runs in any of those starts.

On Tuesday, Williams walked two and struck out six over 107 pitches to lower his ERA to 2.53 for the Angels. His next scheduled start comes Sunday at Kansas City.

Angels starting pitcher Jerome Williams allowed just two earned runs on five hits and no walks in six innings while striking out three against the White Sox Thursday, but the bullpen couldn't hang on to the lead, leaving Williams with the no-decision. Williams threw just 74 pitches in the outing.

Williams has delivered great ratios this year, posting a 3.05 ERA and 1.10 WHIP, despite middling peripherals, which include a 23:10 K:BB ratio in 38 1/3 innings. His next start could come against the Mariners at home next week.

Angels pitcher Jerome Williams picked up his first win as a starter Saturday against the White Sox. Williams, whose last win as a starter came on June 1, 2012, allowed two runs on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings in a 3-2 win.

Both runs he surrendered came in the second inning, including an RBI single off the bat of Alejandro De Aza. The right-hander limited the White Sox to just two hits over his final 4 2/3 innings of work and was pulled after throwing 92 pitches.

Williams (2-1) finished with three strikeouts and one walk. He is slated to face these same White Sox next Thursday.
