Phillies starting pitcher Cliff Lee won his seventh decision in a row Tuesday, in a 4-2 win over the Nationals.

Lee tossed eight terrific innings, while only making two mistakes. He allowed solo home runs to Jayson Werth in the fourth and Jeff Kobernus in the eighth, while holding the Nationals scoreless otherwise. Lee limited them to five hits and walked no batters, his third start in the last five without walking a batter.

Lee struck out nine batters while throwing 82 of 110 pitches for strikes, as he lowered his ERA to 2.53. Lee now ranks first in the National League in wins with nine and first in innings pitched at 110 1/3. He also has the ninth-best ERA (2.53) and third-best WHIP (0.95) after 15 starts.

Lee will try to keep his winning streak intact in his next start, Monday against the Padres in San Diego. 

Phillies starting pitcher Cliff Lee was removed from Thursday's win over the Twins after seven innings and 101 pitches due to a blister on his hand, the Philadelphia Daily News reports. Lee moved to 8-2 with the win and has quality starts in each of his last eight games.

Phillies starting pitcher Cliff Lee moved to 8-2 on the season Thursday by holding the Twins to two earned runs on three hits and one walk in seven innings while striking out six.

Thursday's win was Lee's eighth straight quality start and also his eighth straight start pitching at least seven innings, and he is 6-0 during that stretch. He takes a 2.55 ERA and 89:17 K:BB ratio into Tuesday's home start against the Nationals.

Phillies starting pitcher Cliff Lee started strong but settled for a no-decision Friday night against the Brewers.

Lee surrendered two runs in the fourth inning and could not hang on to a two-run lead in the seventh, as he gave up a two-run triple to Jean Segura to tie the game. The left-hander permitted four runs -- three earned -- on eight hits and three walks while striking out nine in seven innings. He threw 122 pitches, 86 for strikes.

Lee allowed four runs for the first time since May 1, which was also the last time he suffered a loss. He is scheduled to make his next start Thursday against the Twins at Target Field.
