Phillies starter Cliff Lee stayed sharp as he turned in a solid performance but failed to factor into the decision Friday night against the Reds.

Lee, who made his ninth start of the season, gave up a two-run home run to Jay Bruce in the sixth for his only damage of the night. He was charged with two runs and six hits over seven innings of work. He struck out seven and walked two in a 5-3 win. Lee also helped himself with a leadoff double in the bottom of the fifth, which helped pad the lead.

Lee has not allowed more than two runs in each of his last three starts. He is scheduled to make his next start Wednesday at Miami. He's 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA in his last three starts against the Marlins.

Phillies starter Cliff Lee enjoyed another stellar performance as he picked up his fourth win of the season Saturday night against the Diamondbacks.

Lee (4-2), who made his eighth start of the season, fired seven scoreless innings as he won two consecutive games on the road for the first time since August of 2011. He gave up six hits, struck out three and walked two on 114 pitches, 78 of them for strikes.

Lee has struck out nine and has allowed just two runs over his last 15 innings of work. He has watched his ERA shrink from 3.46 to 2.86 during that two-start span.

The 34-year-old is scheduled to make his next start Saturday at home against the Reds. He gave up two runs in seven innings during his last start against Cincinnati on April 15.

Phillies starter Cliff Lee threw 102 pitches over eight innings as he allowed two earned runs on five hits and no walks Monday in San Francisco against Madison Bumgarner.

Lee struck out six and gave up a homer to Hunter Pence as he improved to 3-2 with a 3.26 ERA.

Lee earned his first win since going 8 2/3 innings with two runs allowed against the Mets April 9. His next start is Saturday at Arizona.
