Prince Fielder stays hot for Rangers
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

Rangers designated hitter Prince Fielder continued his hot start to the spring, on Monday.

One day after hitting his first spring home run, Fielder went two-for-three with an RBI against the Athletics.

Fielder had a line-drive single to left and an RBI grounder to short. He left the game for a pinch runner in the fifth inning.

Rangers' Fielder working on timing coming off neck surgery
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com

Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder, who is expected to make his spring debut Wednesday, appears to be doing well coming off neck surgery.

"Good … everything is smooth," Fielder said, per MLB.com. "My legs are not sore so it's all good."

The Rangers are watching Fielder's swing closely as he is facing live pitching for the first time in 9 1/2 months.

"He's doing OK," hitting coach Dave Magadan said, "He's a typical veteran player who is just trying to get his timing. We are trying to solidify some of the stuff we talked about in the offseason. Last year he was crashing into the ball, now we're getting him to hold his ground. Timing is huge. With him it's going as well as expected. Once he gets into the flow of games and gets his timing down, everybody will see a big difference.

"The goal is to hold your ground and get the ball into the air on the pull side. When he does that, it means he is going good."

Rangers' Prince Fielder gets clean bill of health
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com

Rangers first baseman and designated hitter Prince Fielder received a clean bill of health from Dr. Drew Dossett, who performed Fielder's neck surgery last May, reports Fox Sports Southwest. Fielder pronounced himself 100 percent last month, but Dossett's opinion carries more weight.

Fielder, 30, is set for spring training after being limited to 42 games last season.

Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder says he's at 100 percent
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com

Rangers first baseman and designated hitter Prince Fielder told reporters Friday he's back to 100 percent and he could play in a pick up game and "I'm in there," according to ESPNDallas.com

"I'm just going to try to be healthy, that's my main goal," Fielder said. "I know I always said that before. But this was the first time I wasn't healthy, so it really means a lot to me now to try to stay healthy. That's just my goal -- to stay healthy and make sure I'm doing everything I can to be ready to play."

Fielder played in just 42 games in 2014 after having to have neck surgery. He hit .247 with three home runs and 16 RBI in 150 plate appearances.

"It was real difficult because I wasn't used to missing games," Fielder said. "So to miss a lot of the season, it was difficult at first, but I had to be an adult about it, kind of try to just get back healthy to be ready this year. I'm good, I'm 100 percent -- whatever it was before is back."

Prince Fielder moved to 60-day disabled list
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder has been moved to the 60-day disabled list Friday.

Fielder is expected to miss the entire year following neck surgery. Moving him to the 60-day disabled list allows the team to add Justin Marks to the 40-man roster. Fielder hit .247/.360/.360 over 150 at-bats.
