Tigers first baseman Prince Fielder is hoping to snap out of a recent slump. Fielder drove in a run Saturday for the first time in more than a week and finished 2 for 4 with a walk and three RBI Sunday against the Rangers.

"It's definitely not going to hurt," Fielder said. "That's what I'm trying to do, just trying to hit the ball hard. That's the goal, to hit the ball hard and see what happens."

Fielder is hitting .209 (9 for 43) with five RBI in his last 12 games. He is hitting .242 with two homers and 10 RBI in 17 May games.

Fielder is one of the best hitters in baseball, so these types of streaks shouldn't be unexpected. At home, he's hitting .295/.444/.607 with five home runs this year. He'll have a chance to extend his streak Tuesday and Wednesday against the Astros, and then the Tigers will play in Texas Thursday.
