Rangers' Prince Fielder out, Mitch Moreland in at 1B Wednesday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

Rangers slugger Prince Fielder has been given a day off, as he is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's series-finale against the Rockies. This will be Fielder's first day off since June 18. It had been expected that he would have this day off, with the designated hitter position not available.

Mitch Moreland, who was held out of the first two games of the series in Colorado, will assume first base duties and bat cleanup on Wednesday.

Rangers' Prince Fielder moves to first, replaces Mitch Moreland
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

The Rangers are playing an interleague game in Colorado, meaning they don't have a designated hitter.

Prince Fielder moves from DH to first base to stay in the lineup. He'll be playing his 12th game there this year and first since July 8.

The move sends Mitch Moreland to the bench. He's started 58 games and five of the last six.
