Report: Marlins' Latos, Haren, Koehler, Hand already trade targets
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com

The Marlins have received multiple trade inquiries for starting pitchers Mat Latos and Dan Haren, sources told Fox Sports. Teams have also expressed interest in starting pitcher Tom Koehler and reliever Brad Hand.

Latos and Haren, who are in their first seasons with the Marlins following offseason trades, will be free agents after the season.

Koehler is under team control through 2018, while Hand is under team control through 2019.

Marlins SP Dan Haren allows four runs in loss on Thursday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

Marlins right-hander Dan Haren had his streak of seven consecutive quality starts end on Thursday. Haren gave up four runs on seven hits over six-plus innings against the Cardinals. He struck out six and did not issue a walk for the seventh time this season. But he was still saddled with his fifth loss in the 5-1 defeat.

Haren (6-5) gave up a run in the third inning, and then started the seventh by giving up three straight singles before getting lifted for a reliever. In all, three more runs came in to score during that inning, all charged to Haren.

"Danny, for six innings, pitched a heck of a ballgame," manager Dan Jennings said, per MLB.com. "He and [catcher] J.T. [Realmuto] worked tremendous together. That seventh inning, he gives up a soft single, then another base hit. And for the first time in a long time, we did not handle the ball very well defensively. We failed to execute. We have a saying around here -- 27 outs no more."

The veteran still owns an impressive 3.38 ERA on the season.

Marlins announce rotation plans, move Jarred Cosart to bullpen
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com

The Marlins will activate pitcher Jarred Cosart (hand) from the 15-day disabled list Thursday. However, he will not immediately slot back into the rotation and will initially be available to pitch out of the bullpen.

Dan Haren will start Thursday against the Cardinals. Justin Nicolino will then open a three-game series against the Dodgers on Friday and be followed by Tom Koehler on Saturday. The team hasn't decided who will start Sunday's series finale.

Marlins SP Dan Haren picks up tough-luck loss on Friday
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

Marlins right-hander Dan Haren was solid on Friday against the Reds, but he was saddled with his fourth loss of the season.

Haren (6-4) went 6 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on four hits. He walked two and struck out six, as he lowered his ERA to 3.19 on the season.

The veteran right-hander served up a solo home run to Marlon Byrd in the fourth inning. In the seventh, he gave up a one-out double to Tucker Barnhart, which knocked Haren out of the game. Barnhart came around to score on an RBI-single from Skip Schumaker off Steve Cishek, but the run was charged to Haren.

"Dan pitched a heck of a ballgame," Miami manager Dan Jennings said, per MLB.com. "To give up one run here in this ballpark, and it was a Great American Ball Park home run he gave up here. He really threw the ball outstanding. We couldn't supply any offense."

Haren has been consistent, if not terrific this season. He hasn't allowed more than three runs in a start since May 12, and has pitched fewer than five innings just once in 14 starts. But, he has just one win over his last three outings.

He'll look to get back in the win column in his next start, scheduled for Thursday at home against the Cardinals.
