The Angels activated reliever Sean Burnett off the 15-day disabled list. Burnett missed a little over three weeks due to discomfort in his left forearm. 

Burnett will return to his role as a setup man and left-handed reliever. Ryan Brasier was optioned back to Triple-A Salt Lake to make room. 

Angels reliever Sean Burnett may rejoin the L.A. bullpen as soon as Tuesday, MLB.com reports Sunday. Burnett pitched an inning for Class A Inland Empire Saturday. 

"Felt good," Burnett said of his one-inning appearance. "As long as I go out there today and feel good, hopefully I'll be ready to go Tuesday."

On the shelf since April 28 with left forearm irritation, Burnett recorded two strikeouts and allowed only one hit Saturday. Although Burnett wants to be activated Tuesday, that isn't set in stone. 

"I don't think there's any pain or anything, but you have to work back into your delivery and make pitches," manager Mike Scioscia said. "His delivery is a little bit complicated. He's across his body so he's got some work to do there, but if he comes out of it well, feels good, can get a little work in, a little touch and feel, then there's definitely a possibility he can be activated Tuesday."

Working his way back from forearm tightness, Burnett is expected to be activated from the disabled list before Tuesday's game.

It could be Burnett's first and only rehab appearance, as he is expected to be activated from the disabled list prior to Tuesday's game against the Mariners.

Angels relief pitcher Sean Burnett is expected to be activated from the disabled list Tuesday after throwing a bullpen session Thursday, the Orange County Register reports. He should begin a short rehab assignment over the weekend.

Burnett has surrendered just one earned run in 8 2/3 innings this season.
