Eric Stults serves up two home runs in loss vs. Brewers
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Padres pitcher Eric Stults took a loss at home Monday, giving up four earned runs on nine hits and three walks in five innings and striking out three in his team's 10-1 defeat against the Brewers.

Considering the amount of runners on base, Stults (6-14) was lucky the damage wasn't more severe, as he gave up two home runs with no one on base during the outing. He had surrendered only one home run in his last five starts combined, despite four of them coming away from Petco Park. Stults owns a 4.63 ERA and 89:37 K:BB ratio in 140 innings. He's scheduled to face the Dodgers Sunday.

Eric Stults tosses five one-run innings vs. Dodgers
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Padres pitcher Eric Stults earned a win Wednesday, allowing just one earned run on four hits and one walk in five innings while striking out five in his team's 4-1 victory over the Dodgers.

Stults (6-13) moved to 3-0 over his last four starts, and he's only allowed four earned runs in 24 2/3 innings during that stretch. Wednesday's sole run came on a third-inning sacrifice fly, and the San Diego starter also managed to deliver his own RBI single in the second inning. Stults owns a 4.53 ERA and 86:34 K:BB ratio in 135 innings. He's scheduled to face the Brewers Monday.

Eric Stults turns in strong start Thursday
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Padres pitcher Eric Stults turned in a strong start Thursday against the Cardinals.

Stults allowed two runs on four hits over seven innings. He struck out one and issued one walk. Stults fell into some trouble early. He allowed a two-run homer to Jhonny Peralta in the second inning, but that was it. Stults settled in at that point, and kept the Cardinals off the scoreboard for the remainder of the start.

The Padres were able to battle back against the Cardinals, giving Stults a no-decision. His next start will come against the Dodgers.

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Padres pitcher Eric Stults earned a win Saturday, giving up only one earned run on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings and striking out six in his team's 2-1 victory over the Pirates.

Stults (5-13) was handed two runs with which to work by the offense by the time he took the mound in the bottom of the first, and while he gave back one run in his first frame, he blanked the Pirates over the remainder of his outing. He owns a 4.76 ERA and 80:32 K:BB ratio in 123 innings. Stults is scheduled to face the Cardinals Thursday.

Padres considering making changes to rotation alignment
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com

Padres manager Bud Black said Sunday he's considering altering the order of the team's rotation following a two-game series at Minnesota, per MLB.com. Black said he is considering a change because starting pitcher Ian Kennedy was reluctant to let loose on his fastball in his first start back from a mild oblique strain Saturday.

Black said he will make his final decision after watching Kennedy throw a side session in Minnesota. Black could choose to skip over Eric Stults in favor of starting Kennedy for Friday's series opener against the Pirates.

"We'll look through when we get to Minnesota … whether Ian needs another day or two based on his side session [in between starts]," Black said. "He'll throw a side in Minnesota and we'll gauge where he is. We'll see where him and Tyson Ross and Stultzie line up when we get to Minnesota and see how that relates to the Pittsburgh series."
