Video: LeBron James misses free throw, Lance Stephenson flashes 'choke' sign

By Ben Golliver | Blogger

Indiana Pacers guard Lance Stephenson just couldn't help himself.

After Miami Heat All-Star forward LeBron James missed a technical foul free throw during Game 3 of an Eastern Conference semifinals series on Thursday, Stephenson stood up on the Pacers bench and grabbed his neck with both hands, the universal sign for "choking," while looking towards the Heat bench. Just so there was no mistaking the message, Stephenson held the pose for an extended period of time.

The exchange occurred at the 1:32 mark of the third quarter with the Pacers leading 66-55.

James also missed two late-game free throws in a Game 2 loss to the Pacers.

Stephenson, 21, is in his second year with the Pacers. He averaged 2.5 points and 1.3 rebounds in 42 games for Indiana this season. He's played less than five minutes total of mop-up duty so far during the postseason.
