Team USA is a 54-point favorite against Tunisia

Courtesy of Bovada (formerly Bodog), here's the spread on Tuesday's game between Tunisia and Team USA: 54 points.

Said Bovada Sportsbook manager Kevin Bradley: "In my days in this business I cannot remember setting a spread so high for a basketball game with the USA 54 point favorites over Tunisia and this follows the USA women yesterday as 54 point favorites over Angola where they just missed covering by a bucket. Even with this over a half-century spread, 65 percent of the money is still coming in on the USA and the pace has been steadily increasing all morning."

The U.S. women defeated Angola by 52 on Monday.

What's a 54-point score look like? Something like 100-46. Or 115-61. Or 120-66. The over/under for the game is 164 so that would mean a likely score would be in the neighborhood of 109-55.

Tunisia is the only team in the Olympics without and NBA player on the roster. In the 2010 World Championships, the U.S. beat Tunisia 92-57, and that was probably the worst game the Americans played in the tournament.

If the Tunisians are to cover, they're going to need a big game out of Radhouane Slimane. Mohamed Hdidane is going to need to lock up LeBron. And Mehdi Hafsi will need to show up. So pretty much you can see why the U.S. is favored by 54.

For comparison, the Dream Team beat Angola 116-48 in 1992, a 68-point margin.
