J.R. Smith sprayed $23K of champagne in Vegas club after Cavs won NBA title
Cleveland's guard truly knows how to party
Whenever a team wins a championship, bottles upon bottles of champagne are sprayed in celebration. Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith, however, may have taken the act to the extreme back in June.
During their Vegas pit stop after winning the championship in June, Smith and the rest of his teammates sprayed and drank from seemingly a never-ending supply of champagne. Smith apparently though had no concept of how many bottles he was spraying and pouring on people. According to SI's Lee Jenkins, the final bill for his personal celebrations ended up being $23,000.
On June 20, around 3 a.m. at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas, the Cavaliers lost track of (James). While they toasted their title poolside at XS Nightclub--where Smith sprayed $23,000 worth of champagne, according to credible estimates--James slipped out the door. He wound up at Allegro, an Italian restaurant on the casino floor, sitting silently over a Margherita pizza.
Smith spraying $23,000 worth of champagne in a single night may seem excessive, but after all we know about him, this shouldn't be too surprising. It's just another epic tale in the interesting career of NBA champion J.R. Smith.
