Jrue Holiday's wife, Lauren, has successful surgery to remove brain tumor
Jrue will miss an unspecified amount of the season to be with his wife during her recovery

Former soccer star Lauren Holiday had successful surgery on Thursday to remove a brain tumor, as first reported by 13 WTHR Indianapolis. Holiday is the wife of New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday, who will miss the start of the NBA season to be with Lauren and their daughter, who was born last month.

Soccer star and Indianapolis native Lauren Holiday underwent a complicated procedure Thursday to remove a brain tumor.

The brain tumor was discovered during her pregnancy this past summer. In Lauren's case, the tumor is a benign meninjioma, meaning it's located on the outer layer or covering of the brain.
When the United States women's national soccer team played an exhibition game on Wednesday, the players all wore "LH12" wristbands to show their support:

The New Orleans Times-Picayune's John Reid also reported that the surgery was successful.
