Kevin Durant has no intentions of leaving Warriors, and this shot chart is why
The All-Star forward has a player option for 2017-18
Kevin Durant took a lot of heat for signing with the Golden State Warriors last offseason, but that has done nothing to dissuade him from wanting to stay in the Bay Area. On the latest episode of the Warriors Plus/Minus podcast with Marcus Thompson and Tim Kawakami, Durant indicated his desire to stick with the Warriors, saying, "I haven't even thought about it that much but I don't plan on going anywhere else."
Well, yeah. As it turns out, getting to play with three All-Stars every night and only having to take wide open 3s and dunks is pretty fun. Seriously, look at this shot chart. Of course he wants to stay with the Warriors.

This is by far Durant's most efficient season, as he's shooting a career-high 53.7 percent from the floor, and has a true shooting percentage of 65.1, that is not only his best ever, but third-best in the league. He's putting up 25.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game, which are basically the same numbers he's always put up, except now he doesn't have to work as hard to get them.
The reason this is even up in the air at all, is because Durant's two-year deal has a player option for next season, and with Steph Curry, Andre Iguodala, and Shaun Livingston all set to be free agents this summer, the Warriors will have some work to do. But based on everything we've seen, as well as this recent interview, it doesn't sound like convincing KD to stay around will be on their to-do list for very long.
