LeBron James called the Golden State Warriors a "well-oiled machine" on Tuesday and had extremely high praise for their backcourt. Two days before Game 1 of the NBA Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar told reporters that Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are probably the best shooters in NBA history.

"Klay and Steph are probably the two greatest shooters that we've probably ever seen," James said. "Obviously in today's game they are. Some of the shots, there's nothing you can do about it. I mean, better offense beats great defense any day. That's always been a saying in basketball. You have to be able to do other things to stop 'em. But it's hard to contain 'em. We all know that. The whole league knows that. Our team knows that. But we have a game plan and we have to follow it, be true to it."

Three years ago, there was a minor backlash when former Warriors coach Mark Jackson called the Splash Brothers the best-shooting backcourt ever. Now, such a statement is uncontroversial.

Curry obliterated the all-time record for 3-pointers in a season by making 402 this year, and he did so while making 45.4 percent from deep. The second-best mark belongs to Curry last year, and third is Klay Thompson this season. Thompson made 42.5 percent of his 3s this year, by the way.

James isn't trying to butter up the team that won last year's championship and 73 games in the regular season. He's just stating the obvious.
