The NBA suspended Cleveland Cavaliers forward Dahntay Jones one game Sunday for this below-the-belt hit to Raptors center Bismack Biyombo in the Cavs' Game 3 loss to Toronto.
Jones has a history of causing trouble, from tripping Kobe Bryant to bumping Draymond Green. He's an end-of-the-bench player with the Cavs, and this kind of move seems completely unnecessary, no matter the time and score, but especially in garbage time.
The Cavs won't miss him at all and Biyombo will be no worse for the wear after logging a franchise high in rebounds in Game 3. But Jones will take the financial hit. It's also a sign of an increasing level of contention between the two teams in the Eastern Conference finals.
