First, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, one of Kevin Durant's favorite athletes, pitched the superstar on joining the Boston Celtics when team representatives met him in The Hamptons on Saturday. Then Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz reached out to Durant on Twitter. On Sunday, Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman joined the party. Three makes a trend, right?

I'm not sure that any of these players endorsing the city of Boston is going to impact Durant's decision. It can't hurt, though, and it's a smart way of making the Celtics' pitch continue after they parted ways. Boston's position has already gotten a lot stronger since the end of the meeting, as it came to an agreement on a contract with center Al Horford on Saturday.

Durant has completed all his meetings and is expected to announce his decision on Sunday night or Monday morning. Boston and the rest of the NBA world is waiting on him.
