Rajon Rondo was missed by the Chicago Bulls in their 104-87 loss in Game 3 of their first-round series against the Boston Celtics on Friday, but he still managed to make headlines. When Celtics forward Jae Crowder hit a corner 3-pointer by the Bulls bench, Rondo appeared to try to trip him running back down the court:

After the game, Rondo met the media and denied any wrongdoing.

"When you turn an ACL, your leg gets stiff on you [stretch] once in a while," Rondo said. "I stretched my leg out. I always do that throughout the game. It's just, I guess he was so deep into our bench, it looked like whatever may have happened."

Some might read this quote and assume he was essentially admitting it with a wink. Rondo is a difficult guy to decipher sometimes, but if you watch him saying it, he appears serious:

I guess that settles it, unless the league office decides not to believe him.
