The Utah Jazz won their first playoff series in seven years this postseason, but instead of good vibes heading into the offseason, there's a sense of dread in Salt Lake City, as the franchise awaits word from Gordon Hayward about whether he'll opt out of his contract this summer.

If he does, he'll become a free agent, and while the Jazz would surely be in the running to re-sign him, there will be plenty of other suitors. As of right now, however, the forward is still unsure about what he wants to do. Via ESPN:

Utah Jazz forward Gordon Hayward said Tuesday he hasn't thought about whether he will opt out of his contract to become an unrestricted free agent and will take some time off to enjoy time with his family before dealing with the "next chapter."

"It's hard to think about right now, just because of the season we've had and everything we've gone through," he said at his end-of-season availability. "Today it still feels like you're looking toward the next game, looking toward the next opponent. That's obviously over. But it's hard to shut that off right away."

While you can't read Hayward's mind, this would seem like good news for the Jazz. If Hayward was dead set on playing elsewhere he likely would have already announced his decision to opt out.
