Tim Duncan has announced his retirement from the San Antonio Spurs and the NBA. Not all of the old guys on the Spurs are following him out the door just yet. According to The Vertical's Shams Charania, the Spurs and Ginobili are discussing a new contract to bring back the Argentinian guard on a reported one-year, $14 million deal.

$14 million for one year, is actually one of the more lucrative contracts Ginobili has received in his career. Similar to the recently retired Tim Duncan, Ginobili has always taken less money. But with this likely being his final season, this is essentially the Spurs paying Ginobili back for his loyalty to the organization throughout his career.

Also of note, Ginobili's deal doesn't hurt San Antonio's cap space. The Spurs re-signed Ginobili using his Bird Rights so they were allowed to exceed their cap .

Ginobili's future prior to the off-season was up in the air. There was a chance he was going to retire from the NBA, but decided to come back for one more year. Not even Duncan retiring could deter him from trying to help the Spurs find a way back to competing for an NBA title. Ginobili, who turns 39 this week, will be returning for his 15th season in the NBA.

While playing a career low 19.7 minutes per game, Ginobili was still very effective with the ball. He averaged 9.6 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.5 rebounds. He hit 45.3 percent of his shots and 39.1 percent of his 3-point attempts. It was the third best 3-point shooting season of his career and
