People in China like Stephon Marbury. A lot. There was the theatrical play about his life, in which he played himself. There was the postage stamp. There was, of course, the statue. Now, shortly after becoming the first foreign basketball player to be approved for a permanent residence permit in China, he has his own personal museum. The grand opening of the House of Marbury musem was on Monday.

From China Daily:

"Today was one of the best days of my life in opening my own museum The House OF Marbury," announced the two-time NBA All-star on his Weibo account.

"I couldn't have dreamed this dream for myself although God has created another miracle in this life for me. Without my teammates, coaches and fans from Beijing this wouldn't be possible," he said.

The 300-square-meter area in downtown Beijing showcases Marbury's photos, from his childhood in Brooklyn, New York to recent years in Beijing, a place he sees as his "second home".

The museum will be open to the public next week, per ESPN. Marbury's Beijing Ducks have won three of the last four CBA titles, and he was named finals MVP for the first time this year as a 38-year-old. He's been playing in China since 2010.

On his Instagram account, Marbury posted a video of Los Angeles Lakers president and co-owner Jeanie Buss congratulating him on the museum opening.
