Injuries leave Heat reeling from frontcourt injuries
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

The Heat's post-LeBron plans were based heavily on a frontcourt tandem of Chris Bosh and Josh McRoberts, the team's two biggest signings of the free agency period. However, with Chris Bosh dealing with a calf strain and Josh McRoberts set for season-ending knee surgery, those plans have gone awry, and Fantasy owners are left to sort through the pieces.

The Heat are used to playing without McRoberts, who was just ninth on the team in minutes played through the first 23 games of the season. However, Fantasy owners were starting to get excited about his return to health, since few big men can produce quite like McRoberts does. He was averaging 4.0 assists and 1.0 3-pointers per-36 minutes, but at least the Heat have an in-house option to replace him in the form of Shawne Williams. Williams averaged 12.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.6 3-pointers per game through the first 10, which McRoberts mostly missed with injuries.

Finding someone to replace Bosh will be a bigger test, though it is likely one the team won't have to deal with for too long. Bosh acknowledged his calf injury could cost him a few weeks Monday, though that seems like a worst-case scenario. For the time being, Justin Hamilton and Chris Andersen are likely to see larger roles, but neither warrants more than a cursory glance in deeper Fantasy leagues for the time being.

For Fantasy Week 8, you might want to slip Williams, Luol Deng and Mario Chalmers into your starting lineups, especially with Dwyane Wade fighting an illness. Long term, however, it remains to be seen just how the Heat will deal with these injuries.

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Heat small forward Shawne Williams scored 13 points on 5 of 9 shooting, including 3 of 6 shooting from three-point range, while grabbing a season-high 11 rebounds in his team's 91-84 loss to the Bucks Sunday.

Williams played 26 minutes in the loss and managed to sink at least three three-pointers for the seventh time in nine November games. He also committed five personal fouls for the second straight game as the Heat lost their third straight. They'll look to get back on track Monday in Brooklyn.

Shawne Williams could be factor in frontcourt rotation for Heat
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com

Heat forward Shawne Williams is down to 235 pounds after losing 25 pounds since the summer, according to the Sun-Sentinel. It is the lightest the seven-year pro has been since college.

"It's helped me a lot mentally," Williams said. "Right now, I still haven't even tapped into it. You're so big sometimes you forget what you can do. The coaches have been doing a great job of trying to remind me what my body can do."

The Heat are hoping Williams' improved conditioning will make him a valuable piece of the frontcourt rotation.

"Keep your eye on him," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "He's an excellent shooter and in much better shape than he's been in before. He just needs to be comfortable with where and when and how he'll get to those shots. He's one of the better shooters we have in our gym."

Lakers shake up starting five
by Joe Polito | CBSSports.com

Flexibility is key when dealing with injuries, so the Lakers have decided to go with the flow as far as their limited rotation is concerned. Los Angeles will send out Steve Nash, Steve Blake, Wesley Johnson, Shawne Williams and Chris Kaman against the Jazz Tuesday night, according to the team website.

Kaman earned the starting spot by scoring 27 points against Chicago, and Nash confirmed that he'll play despite injuring his knee last time out.
