  • Spurs easing Ginobili back: San Antonio guard Manu Ginobili saw 17 minutes of action on Saturday night as he returned to the court for the first time since Jan. 2. He had been sidelined with a hand injury and is was reported before the game his minutes would be limited. "I'm very happy to be back, first of all, after (almost) 40 days," Ginobili said. "Conditioning-wise, I'm behind. Basketball-wise, I'm behind. I know the only way to get back is to play." He shot 4 for 7 from the field, missing both his attempts from deep. Ginobili finished with eight points, four assists and one rebound. The Spurs would end up beating the Nets, 103-89.

    Ginobili said he just wanted to contribute, and that's exactly what he did. He'll likely need a few games to get his stamina up and find a groove offensively. Ginobili said that doctors did not give him a protective brace to wear despite the six small screws in his hand. Ginobili, 34, averaged 17.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in his five appearances before the injury. Fantasy owners should keep tabs on his progress and view him as a solid guard option.
