Despite an outstanding effort that saw him post his second-highest point total of the season, Cousins endured a difficult finish to the game. He was whistled on what appeared to be a terrible foul call against Dwyane Wade with 14 seconds remaining, and then had the ball stolen by Taj Gibson at the six-second mark and the
Cousins finished with 25 points (7-19 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 10-14 FT) to go along with 12 rebounds, 10 assists and three blocked shots in Wednesday's 106-100 loss against Indiana.
Cousins finished with his fifth-career triple-double. Boogie has been a man on fire in January, averaging 24.7 points, 10.8 rebounds, 7.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.5 blocked shots over his past six outings. That's the good news. The bad news is that the team likely lost Rudy Gay for the season due to a torn Achilles' tendon, and Cousins could be facing increased defensive pressure and double teams in the coming weeks. He'll still be a must-start fantasy option and an offensive force against lesser teams, but the top defensive teams will make things much rougher on him.
Cousins finished with 26 points (9-16 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-9 FT), 11 assists, eight rebounds and one steal across 39 minutes in a 120-108 loss to the Cavaliers on Friday.
It was the 19th double-double of the season for Cousins, and the first time he's done it with both points and assists. The big man came within striking distance of a triple-double, but didn't quite reach his usual volume of boards after having pulled down at least 10 rebounds in each of the previous three game. Cousins' assists have been on an upward trend since about late December, and his improving efficiency from the field in recent contests is helping him justify his lofty price in DFS contests. He's knocked down exactly half of his attempts from the field over the last four games, and 42.9 percent of his three-point tries.
Cousins was able to produce across the board despite a matchup with Andre Drummond, coming up with his third consecutive double-double after failing to do so in the previous seven games. He has also been sharing the ball at an excellent rate and is averaging six assists per game over the last nine contests. Perhaps most importantly, Real GM and other sources reported Tuesday that Cousins intends to sign a max offer from the
Cousins scored 17 points (4-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 8-9 FT) to go along with 17 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks in 29 minutes during Sunday's 117-106 loss to the Warriors.
Cousins struggled from the floor and never seemed to get going, as he dealt with foul trouble in the first half and was seen demonstrating his frustration on the sideline after being removed just before the break. He was able to achieve his second straight double-double after recording just one in his previous 10 games and made typically strong contributions in assists, steals and blocks as well. Cousins' unique skill set allows him to produce even on nights such as this when he does not match his career best scoring average of 28.4 points per game.
