Nets resting entire starting lineup
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

The Nets will be without their entire starting lineup for Wednesday's finale in Cleveland, though health is not a big concern heading into the playoffs. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are getting the night off to rest before the postseason starts, while Joe Johnson (calf), Deron Williams (knee) and Shaun Livingston (toe) are all receiving treatment for minor injuries.

Paul Pierce solid in playing through shoulder injury
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

Nets forward Paul Pierce was able to play through a shoulder injury Tuesday, logging 21 minutes in a 109-98 loss to the Knicks. Pierce scored 13 points on 4 of 8 shooting in the game, with one 3-pointer made. He added one rebound, one assist and one steal in the loss.

With the Nets locked into their playoff seeding, Pierce might not even play in the season finale against the Cavaliers Wednesday. If not, he will finish the season averaging 13.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in 75 appearances, the worst averages of his career across the board.

Paul Pierce playing through shoulder "tweak"
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

Nets forward Paul Pierce will play through a minor shoulder injury Tuesday against the Knicks, after tweaking it in Sunday's game. Pierce is in the starting lineup against the Knicks, though he might not play his usual role with the Nets gearing up for the playoffs.

Brooklyn stars all game-time calls Tuesday
by Joe Polito | CBSSports.com

Even more Nets could be missing from Tuesday's finale with New York, as the New York Daily News reports that Paul Pierce, Deron Williams and Joe Johnson are all game-time decisions

With Brooklyn locked into the playoffs, it seems unlikely that these three veterans will see the court in a meaningless game.

Paul Pierce tweaks shoulder in win over Magic
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Nets forward Paul Pierce tweaked his shoulder during Sunday's win over the Magic. Head coach Jason Kidd told ESPN New York he could have brought him back into the game "if it had more meaning."

"I could've brought him back, but there was no need to bring him back," Kidd said. "There was no reason to put him in harm's way so we finished the game without him. Now he gets a little rest to get ready for Tuesday."

Pierce should be available to play against the Knicks on Tuesday.
