Jazz's Joe Johnson: Pours in 27 in blowout win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Johnson scored 27 points (10-14 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT) along with three rebounds and one assist in 23 minutes Wednesday during a 127-94 win over the Pelicans.

Johnson turned back the hands of time, scoring the most points he's scored since opening night on October 25th. The 35-year-old benefited from the huge lead the Jazz accumulated, which allowed their starting lineup to rest and for coach Quin Synder to dig deep into his rotation.

Jazz's Joe Johnson: Tallies 18 points in Saturday's win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Johnson submitted 18 points (7-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt), six rebounds and four assists across 30 minutes in a 105-98 win over the Hornets on Saturday.

With Rodney Hood missing his first game since exiting Wednesday's win over the Bucks with what was later diagnosed as a bone contusion in his right knee, Joe Ingles entered the starting lineup at shooting guard, but it was Johnson who replaced most of Hood's production. The 18 points paced the Jazz bench and were Johnson's most since Dec. 1. The veteran swingman will likely see expanded opportunities for as long as Hood remains sidelined, so those in deeper leagues may want to take a look at him in the short term.

Jazz's Joe Johnson: Scores 14 against Bucks
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Johnson turned in 14 points (5-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds and five assists in 27 minutes Wednesday during a 104-88 win over the Bucks.

Johnson turned back the hands of time for one night. The 35-year-old shooting guard scored over 10 points, a feat he hasn't accomplished in six games. Johnson is averaging 8.2 points this season on 43.4/38.3/81.8 shooting splits.

Jazz's Joe Johnson: Still has something left in tank
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Johnson finished with 15 points (5-9 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), including 10 in the fourth quarter, in Monday's 106-101 win against the Suns.

Johnson has been up and down in January, and this was just his second double-digit scoring performance in eight games in the month. He is worth retaining in deeper rotisserie formats, especially if you need occasional 3-pointers. However, he is just a shell of his former self and not terribly useful in standard formats.

Jazz's Joe Johnson: Out for rest Saturday vs. Magic
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Johnson is inactive for Saturday's matchup against the Magic for rest purposes, reports David Locke, radio voice of the Jazz.

Despite playing an average of 15 minutes per game over the last four contests, Johnson won't take part in Saturday's game to rest. The designation itself may be more of a formality, as coach Quin Snyder may be looking to give more young guys, like Raul Neto, who is active Saturday, some minutes. Over the aforementioned four game stretch, Johnson averaged 3.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.8 assists on 23.8 percent shooting from the field.
