Two of Heat's Big Three will rest Wednesday

The Heat will again have to play without two of their biggest contributors, as the team announced Wednesday that LeBron James and Chris Bosh will both rest for the team's regular-season finale against the 76ers. 

James and Bosh also rested Monday night at Washington, leading to a blowout loss at the hands of the Wizards.

Heat forward LeBron James has expressed his desire to sit out a few games before the start of the playoffs. He will likely get what he wished for starting Monday. The Miami Herald reports that James, along with Chris Bosh will get a day of rest against the Wizards.

James has started in 77 of Miami's 80 games on the year, logging 37.7 minutes per game. He has averages of 27.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists per contest over that span. Bosh, who has only missed one game this season, played just 28 minutes Saturday against Atlanta. He is averaging 16.2 points and 6.6 boards in 79 games.

Heat forward LeBron James might get some well-deserved rest this week, as ESPN reports the team will consider sitting James for Mondays' contest at Washington and Wednesday's home finale against Philadelphia.

James has started in 77 of Miami's 80 games on the year, putting forth another MVP-caliber statistical season. He's averaged 27.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game on the year.

Heat forward LeBron James, who has missed just three games this season, told the Sun Sentinel after Thursday's practice that he plans on playing the final eight games of the regular season as long as he stays healthy.

"I have no choice," James said. "I don't plan on sitting out any of these (eight) games unless something happens. I'm going to be in the lineup."

James played 76 games last season and is currently at 71 games played this season. He has not played 79 games since his first season with the Heat in 2011-12. James is enjoying another MVP-worthy campaign, averaging 26.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists while shooting 56.9 percent from the floor, and 37.3 percent from downtown over that span.

LeBron James records first triple-double of season

Heat forward LeBron James put up another memorable performance on Friday, securing his first triple-double of the season in a 110-78 victory over the Pistons.

James scored 17 points on 7 of 13 from the floor, including 1 of 3 from 3-point land, and 2 of 2 from the free throw line. He completed the triple-double with 12 assists and 10 rebounds, also adding one steal while logging 30 minutes of game action.

James has nine triple-doubles with the Heat. He's averaging 25.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.6 assists over his last five games.
