Warriors' David West: Signs veteran minimum contract with Warriors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

West signed a one-year, $1.55 million contract with the Warriors on Tuesday, David Aldridge of NBA.com reports.

West's hunt for a championship ring continues as he heads to Golden State after one season with the Spurs. The 14-year-veteran declined his player option with San Antonio and has agreed to a veteran-minimum contract for the second season in a row. Since landing Kevin Durant, the Warriors have been busy filling up the rest of their roster with veteran big men, including the likes of West and Zaza Pachulia. At 35, West will figure to be an important cog off the bench for the Warriors with Festus Ezeli, Marreese Speights, and Anderson Varejao all becoming free agents.

Spurs' David West: Declines player option
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

West will decline his $1.55 million player option for the 2016-17 season and become an unrestricted free agent, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.

West saw his playing time diminish greatly in his first year with the Spurs, with his 18.0 minutes per game marking his lowest average since his rookie season. With the salary cap expected to rise at the start of the new league year, West is likely hoping for a bit of a pay raise. Look for West to try and latch on with another title contender, unless of course the 14-year veteran decides to call it a career and retire.

Spurs' David West: Soaks up substantial center minutes in Game 3
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

David West generated seven points (3-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and a block over 25 minutes in Friday's 100-96 Game 3 victory over the Thunder.

The veteran big man received a notable bump in minutes from the 11 he'd talled in Game 2, and the playing time was the most he'd tallied in the San Antonio Spurs ' seven postseason games overall. His one made three-pointer was also just his fifth in 80 career games, but his second of this year's postseason. While the additional playing time was a positive development for West, the extra minutes could just as easily evaporate in Game 4 if coach Gregg Popovich opts to give Tim Duncan more than the 14 minutes he received Friday.

Spurs' David West: Scores six points in Tuesday's Game 2 blowout win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

David West went for six points (3-3 FG), four rebounds, one steal, and one block in 18 minutes during the San Antonio Spurs ' 94-68 win against the Grizzlies on Tuesday.

West is one of the many Spurs' bench players capable of contributing on a consistent basis. However, a good portion of his minutes came during garbage time, and there is a lot of competition for playing time. Specifically, Boris Diaw usually receives the nod before West as the first big man off the bench, and West should not be expected to post impressive numbers while playing less than 20 minutes per game.

Spurs' David West: Resting for finale
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

West will be rested for Wednesday's regular season finale against the Mavericks, Paul Garcia of Project Spurs reports.

West has played in each of the last six games, averaging 25.5 minutes. He'll join a number of other Spurs regulars in street clothes Wednesday as the team gears up for a postseason run. With LaMarcus Aldridge and Tim Duncan also out Wednesday, expect to see more of Boris Diaw, Boban Marjanovic, and Matt Bonner in the frontcourt.
