Eagles trade Winston Justice to Colts, swapping sixth-round picks
The Colts aren't making huge splashes in free agency, but they're obviously interested in helping and protecting their (likely) new investment Andrew Luck. They made that clear when they traded for Eagles tackle Winston Justice on Wednesday.
As part of the trade the two teams swapped sixth-round picks, the Colts announced Wednesday. That means the Eagles get the No. 2 pick in the sixth-round from the Colts, and Indy gets the No. 17 pick in the sixth-round along with Justice.
Don't fret, though Eagles fans: the move also saves Philly around $2.34 million in cap space for the upcoming year, per Adam Caplan of TheSidelineView.com. (That's based on the Colts taking Justice's base salary of $4.256 million less an accelerated proration of $1.912 million.)
Justice played in just six games (starting one) in 2011 and was by far the worst tackle on Philly's roster. But he's also a guy that new Colts general manager Ryan Grigson, formerly of the Eagles, is familiar with.
Presumably, Justice will slot in at right tackle for the Colts opposite 2011 first-round draft pick Anthony Costanzo.
