Pryce: 'What Amani Toomer said is probably the most idiotic thing I've ever heard'

Recently, Kurt Warner created quite the controversy when he said that he wouldn't let his kids play football. Amani Toomer helped keep the chatter swirling when he popped on television and said that Warner needs to "keep his opinions to himself" and called the former quarterback "disingenuous."

Former NFL defensive end Trevor Pryce was on ROME (CBS Sports Network, weeknights, 6 p.m. ET) and vehemently disagreed with Toomer's comments.

"What Amani Toomer said is probably the most idiotic thing I've ever heard," Pryce said on ROME. "And here's why: the fact that Kurt Warner said he didn't want his kids playing football should be predicated on one thing -- he didn't want his kids playing NFL football. And that's a big difference. Little league football? Every kid wants to play little league football."

CBSSports.com's senior NBA writer Ken Berger was also on the show, and he agreed with Pryce, at least if only because what Toomer said is ridiculous.

Warner doesn't need to prop up the league just because he works for the NFL Network. And he certainly shouldn't lie about whether or not he'd let his kids play football. As for Amani, he'd also be smart to remember that Kurt Warner's kids are, you know, Kurt Warner's kids.
