Jets quarterback coach on Tim Tebow: 'He has good mechanics'

There's really no hope of the Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez storyline dying any time between now and when the 2012 NFL season actually begins, so we're just going to embrace it. Of course, that's a lot easier when Jets quarterbacks coach Matt Cavanaugh decides to praise Tebow in the offseason.

And it's really easy when Cavanaugh praises Tebow for having "good mechanics."

“I think he can be very good,” Cavanaugh told Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “I was pleasantly surprised when I saw him over an extended period of time ... not just watching him play on film. I think he's certainly got the arm strength. He has good mechanics. They're getting better every day."

I mean ... OK, sure. I was going to find a GIF of Tim Tebow's throwing motion and then point to the fact that he's got a longer windup than Hideo Nomo. But I couldn't find one when I tried to Google it. Naturally, I turned to the Internet:

In other words, what exactly is Cavanaugh watching? Or was he with Tebow the last time he got his oil changed and just phenomenally impressed with the work that the guys did under the hood?

Because, you see, there are many things that you could say about Tim Tebow to be kind about his abilities on or off the football field. "Good mechanics" is not one of them.
