Rob Gronkowski recently had the cast removed from his surgically repaired forearm but there's some bad news as well, as the Patriots tight end also reportedly underwent surgery to repair an infection in the same injured forearm.

Field Yates and Adam Schefter of ESPN report that Gronk is not expected to miss any "extended time" as a result of the surgery and that he should be ready for training camp.

This is third surgery for Gronk on the arm, which he broke against the Colts in Week 11 while blocking on an extra point late in a blowout victory. Gronkowski had surgery on the arm and returned for the playoffs.

Gronk reinjured the arm against the Texans in the playoffs and missed the remainder of the postseason.

Since then, just about every bit of news surrounding Gronk has involved him doing something zany off the field.
