Bears' Jay Cutler reportedly has torn labrum, to seek second opinion
The Bears quarterback could be done for the year
As expected after Monday night's report of a shoulder injury, Jay Cutler is expected to miss the rest of the season. The specific injury, according to a report from NFL Network, is a torn labrum.
Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday that Cutler has a torn labrum, but is expected to get a second opinion and is still waiting for a definite timeline.

It stands to reason that both the Bears and Cutler would like to call it a wrap on this season for him at this point.
Cutler has been OK at times, but reportedly lost the locker room in recent weeks, thanks to a ghastly performance against the Buccaneers. Cutler denied those reports after the game.
The bigger issue here, though, is a potential contract concern. It's believed Cutler's days in Chicago are numbered. He's probably going to be a free agent after this season. Chicago probably doesn't want to play Matt Barkley for the next five weeks, but having Cutler suffer another injury that causes him to deal with physical issues into next season would be disastrous.
Cutler probably doesn't want to risk an offseason of free agency by pushing it either.
And the Bears are a two-win team. Trotting out a veteran quarterback with a busted shoulder just isn't a prudent move.
The timeline can come into view as slowly as it needs but the writing is on the wall for Cutler's season, and potentially his Chicago career, to come to a close.
