Broncos CB Chris Harris says Josh Norman's a one-year wonder
Chris Harris threw some serious shade at Josh Norman.
If there's one person in the NFL who wasn't surprised by the Panthers' shocking decision to dump Josh Norman, that person is probably Broncos cornerback Chris Harris.
Norman's franchise tag was rescinded by Carolina on Wednesday, which means the cornerback is now a free agent. Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman said his team had to make the move because a long-term deal with Norman wasn't ever going to get done.
"After a number of conversations with Josh's agent we realized that a long-term deal was not attainable," Gettleman said in a statement.
Norman was believed to be asking for a contract that paid about $16 million a year, which is a lot of money for a guy who's not a top-three cornerback and that's exactly what Harris thinks: Norman's not a top-3 corner.
During an interview with Mile High Report, Harris was asked to name the top three corners in the NFL.
His answer?
"Revis, Talib, me," Harris said, referring to Darrelle Revis and Aqib Talib.
So why isn't Norman on his list?
Because he's a one-year wonder, "You got to be good more than one year," Harris said.
Zing.
The 2015 season marked the first time in Norman's four-year career that he started all 16 games in a season.
Anyway, this quote would've been a lot juicer if Norman was still in Carolina because the Panthers and Broncos open the season against each other this year. As of right now, Harris and Norman won't be seeing each other, so let's hope Norman signs with a team that the Broncos play in 2016, because if Norman's fight with Odell Beckham is any indication, the corner loves a good feud.
