C.J. Anderson denies report he's out for the season with torn ACL, deletes denial
The Broncos running back will miss time but says he isn't out for the year
NFL injury reports can get a little hectic in this time of Twitter, when players can dispute reports about their health. This precise thing happened Thursday, as Broncos running back C.J. Anderson shot down a report that he will miss the rest of the season.
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported Thursday morning that Anderson, who is expected to miss this week, would also miss the rest of the season.
#Broncos RB CJ Anderson has told people close to him that he's done for the year, I am told. Awful.

But there's a plot twist (or two) here. After Rapoport tweeted that, Anderson quoted the tweet and added "False" to his own tweet. That's pretty clearly disputing the report. However, Anderson deleted the tweet, so all we have are screenshots.

Adding to Anderson's response is Adam Schefter of ESPN reporting Anderson did not tear his ACL, meaning he likely won't miss the rest of the season.
Wednesday night MRI revealed Broncos' RB CJ Anderson did not tear his ACL, per source. Team expected to update his status today.

Everyone agrees Anderson will miss a couple weeks with his knee injury however.
More info on #Broncos RB CJ Anderson: @MikeGarafolo reports he's out at least a few weeks with a bone bruise. Possible it is more. Not good

Broncos' RB CJ Anderson could miss multiple games with knee injury - could even be extended layoff depending on extent of injury.

So who knows what's going on? No one!
Except probably C.J. Anderson. The guess here -- and it is a total guess -- is the Broncos asked him not to engage with reporters on Twitter in an individual fashion and to let the team issue a press release later stating exactly what is happening with Anderson.
It's probably a good bet that he misses at least one week and maybe more with the knee injury. Devontae Booker has been running really well for Denver, so the Broncos shouldn't skip much of a beat in the running game (Booker might secretly be better and/or the perfect runner for Kubiak's scheme).
What would really stink is if Anderson is wrong about his own knee injury.
