The Panthers no-good day got worse in the fourth quarter when quarterback Cam Newton made a mental error that led to him being checked for a concussion.

With Carolina scoring a touchdown to bring the score to 34-16, the Panthers lined up for a two-point conversion attempt. Newton looked off one read and then ran left towards the end zone to pick up the two points.

As he was about to walk into the end zone, however, Newton slowed up and got absolutely rocked by rookie Deion Jones.

Newton was knocked back, but still managed to recover and get in the end zone and convert the play -- which is pretty incredible, considering how hard he got hit.

But the bad news is he was forced to leave the game and is being evaluated for a concussion in the locker room.

Derek Anderson stepped in for Cam and helped lead the Panthers to a touchdown to Greg Olsen, but it's probably irrelevant, because the Carolina defense can't stop the Falcons from scoring.

On the next possession, Matt Ryan and Julio Jones hooked up for a 75-yard touchdown that put Julio over 300 yards receiving for the day and Ryan over 500 passing.

Really rough day for the Panthers all around and it could be worse if Newton is battling a concussion.
