Charles Tillman confessed on Monday: Cam Newton isn't at fault for removing a fan's Packers sign at the Panthers' most recent home game. According to Tillman, he instructed Newton to take down the sign.

And really, it makes sense that Tillman was behind it all along. After all, Tillman, a cornerback, played for the Bears for the past 12 seasons, which means he's developed a bit of an intolerance to the Packers.

In case you missed the beginning of this so-called controversy, here's some context: Before the Panthers' home game against the Packers on Sunday, Newton spotted a fan's Packers sign hanging near the field. After warming up, Newton confiscated the sign and took it with him to the locker room -- all good fun, right?

But here's the rub: The fan who made that sign reported Newton to the police. According to the The Fayetteville Observer, the Panthers will make up the cost of the sign.

All in all, it seemed to be a good day for Tillman. Not only did Newton take down that sign for him, but Tillman also beat Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, something that didn't happen much with the Bears in recent years.

Tillman, an ex-Bear, doesn't care too much for the Packers. (USATSI)
