Earl Thomas will miss the first game of his career Sunday against the Bucs

Thomas will sit this Sunday with a hamstring injury

For the first time in his NFL career, star Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas will sit out a game. The Seahawks initially listed Thomas as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a hamstring injury, but they later downgraded him to out.

Earl Thomas has been downgraded from doubtful to out for Sunday's game. It'll break his streak of 106 straight starts.

Thomas was drafted back in 2010 and has started all 106 regular season games for the Seahawks ever since. Including 12 postseason games, his consecutive games streak will be snapped at 118.

With Michael Bennett still out after having knee surgery a few weeks ago, the Seahawks are now down two of their best defensive players. The Tampa Bay offense is not the most difficult in the league to deal with, but they are certainly more dangerous through the air than on the ground, and the Seahawks are obviously not used to playing pass defense without Thomas covering them on the back end.
