The wife of Lawrence Taylor was arrested Friday in a domestic dispute that resulted in the former Giants linebacker sustaining a three-inch cut across his head.

According to a police report, Lynette Taylor admitted to throwing an object across the room at her husband, striking him in the head and causing the injury.

Per the Associated Press, Lynette was charged with battery and resisting an officer without violence. Despite admitting to throwing the object at her husband, Taylor did not go smoothly with the officers on the scene, per the report.

The Pembroke Pines police report indicates Taylor is not interested in proceeding with charges against his wife.

Taylor is a former Giants superstar and arguably the greatest defensive player in NFL history -- he has 10 All-Pro awards, won Defensive Player of the Year three times, won a pair of Super Bowls, revolutionized the linebacker position and was named NFL MVP in 1986.

The off-field history for the Giants great is significantly less impressive. After struggles throughout his career, Taylor ran afoul of the law post-football as well.
