LOOK: Cowboys-Browns gets crazy early as fight leads to double ejection
A fight? Someone threw a helmet? It all happened in Cleveland
The game in Cleveland between the Browns and the Cowboys got off to a wild start Sunday when two players were ejected within the first three minutes of the game, eventually won by Dallas 35-10.
So how exactly did that happen?
Well, it all started on a third-and-8 play for the Browns. After Cody Kessler threw an incomplete pass from the Cowboys' 13, penalty flags started to fly because Cowboys defensive end David Irving and Browns center Cameron Erving had gotten into a small fight.
This wasn't just any shoving match though, this was full WWE style. At one point during the fight, Irving's helmet came off. At that point, Erving picked the helmet up and THREW IT at the Cowboys defensive end.

In the picture below, just look at the ref on the right, who is clearly freaked out by the thought of being hit by the rogue helmet. For another look at the fight, here are some moving images of the fracas.

After the play, officials immediately ejected both Irving and Erving from the game. Both players were called for unnecessary roughness, but the penalties didn't really do any damage because they were offsetting.
The ejection will likely hurt the Browns more because they just lost their starting center. On the other hand, the Cowboys just lost a backup defensive end.
Anyway, it's not completely clear why Irving was ejected. Video from the game showed him shove Erving, which doesn't usually lead to an ejection. As for Irving, he was ejected because he tried to maim someone with a helmet.
The Cowboys have an early 7-3 lead over the Browns.
