Mike Zimmer's sad trip to McDonald's makes his bad week even worse
The head coach of the Vikings has had a difficult few days.
It's been one of those weeks for Mike Zimmer.
His Vikings didn't just lose to the Seahawks, they lost by 31 points at home. His best player, Adrian Peterson, told reporters that the Vikings were "outcoached," which is pretty much the one thing a coach never wants to hear.
After the game, Zimmer was asked about any positives from the game. He replied by saying, "It's over." Then, Zimmer admitted he maybe should've given Peterson more than eight carries during the loss.
Zimmer's week hasn't gotten any better since then.
On Monday night, Zimmer finally went home after staying at the facility Sunday night to prepare for the Vikings' Thursday night game. On Zimmer's trip home, he stopped at McDonald's. It didn't go as planned.
"I went to McDonald's on the way home, because I was hungry," Zimmer said, per ESPN. "I ordered two cheeseburgers, and I only got one. That's the kind of week it's been."
Why didn't Zimmer remind the employees that he's the head coach of the Vikings?
"They probably did [know who I am]," Zimmer said. "That's probably why I only got one."
Here's the good news for Zimmer: His team still controls its playoff fate. Then again, if the Vikings fall to the Cardinals on Thursday, his already-awful week will take yet another ugly turn.
