If you missed Odell Beckham Jr.'s meltdown on the Giants sideline this past Sunday, go watch him openly weep and get beat up by a kicking net. It's quite delightful.

Probably not so great from the perspective of his coach, though, because a rowdy sideline Beckham means a rowdy on-field Beckham and a potentially distracted Beckham.

That was the exact way Ben McAdoo described OBJ on Monday, according to NJ.com, calling him "a distraction to himself and his teammates" when he was losing it on the sidelines.

"I thought between the white lines he controlled himself," McAdoo said, per NJ.com. "Emotionally on the sideline in between the series, he needs to do a better job. That's all of our responsibilities, mine included. But he needs to control his emotions better and be less of a distraction to himself and his teammates. It's our job to help him with that process."

This is distracting:

Getting knocked around by a kicking net because you lost it on the sideline -- yeah, that isn't helping anyone else on the team. It's drawing attention unnecessarily.

And it's really weird, because Beckham was playing pretty well against Redskins corner Josh Norman at the time. He didn't even drop a ball -- Eli Manning just managed to throw a terrible interception. Which made Beckham's wig out even weirder.

"I was trying to figure out what was going on, why he was getting frustrated," Manning said. "He was getting catches, he was making plays and we just need everybody to stay calm. We don't need to get rattled, we don't need to get fired up."

Sideline behavior can pervade the entire roster in the same way being a weirded-out parent can cause your kid to melt down even more than usual.

In a tight game against a division rival, being calm, being rational, being supportive is much more important than trying to hurt a kicking net and starting to cry on the sideline.

OBJ is a passionate 23-year-old superstar wideout. But he's also morphing into the face of the Giants franchise. And the last two times he's faced off against Norman he's lost his cool. It's not a great look.
